From February to April, I made 55 pieces artworks, with several kinds of art styles. I want to use those styles to make art as contagious.
Painting is the happy thing in the life, says Bob Ross. I highly agreed about this.
Painting represent your mood, your emotion, I wish my ''contagious'' can make people wants to create their own art, and also be happy to create their art style.
Diversification, is very important to put in art. In my conception, I'd like to try every kinds of art styles. Learn the benefits on each art styles and combines together, then you can create your own art world.
Contagious, I wish you enjoy in my art world.
14, June 7:00 was the opening of show, it was very success.
I appreciated the director of Image Factory Art Foundation Mr. Yasser Musa,
and Mr. Kirkland Smith, the director of Belize Art Centre.
The show will be showing from Monday to Friday 9:00 to 5:00 until 5 of July.
All the pieces will be selling around / under 250 Bz.

Contagious by Belize Love Fm/ TV June 13, 2013The word Contagious is defined by the free dictionary dot com as “Transmissible by direct or indirect contact” and artist Julian Veronin Kuo has used the word Contagious for his acrylic on canvass art collection which will be exhibited at the Image Factory. Kuo who is nineteen, has been painting from the time he was four years old. Today Love News spoke with him and he told us more about his collection.
JULIAN KUO “At first, I painted on my wall at home; my wall was a mess. I learned a lot online and had a lot of my drawings on my wall and found that I am interested in art and so I started to create my own art. This is my first exhibition in Belize; I started in February up to April and I have fifty five pieces here; I have abstract, human and landscape. In each artwork, I have my own story in my mind, so if I have an idea, I just use my materials and draw it. In each artwork I want everyone to describe it from their own point of view. I have my own story for each artwork but I want them to think about their own story to describe it; this is what Contagious is about. When people walk in and they see different kinds of artworks and different kinds of art style, I want people to love art and make them think that they want to do it because painting is happy.” Kuo says he studied at the Art Center in Belize for three years and plans to head to Mexico to continue studying art. The exhibit will be launched tomorrow at 7:00 pm and will remain open until the 5th of July. |
Contagious by Channel 5 14 June, 2013Artist’s works are Contagious
Contagious…it is a new exhibit that is launching tonight at the Image Factory. Although presumed to be the works of several artists, it is in fact the artwork of nineteen year old Julian Kuo. The fifty-five piece collection is the artists best works that he painted between February to April of this year. Using different techniques and styles, Kuo wants to infect people and convert them into art-lovers. Julian Veronin Kuo, Artist “Each piece of artwork has its own story. So I want them to come here and they can look at my artwork and create their own point of view of those artwork and to describe by themselves for the artwork story. I have three sections here. The first one would be abstract, the second one would be human and the third one would be landscape. Those are from different kinds of art-styles. So I want to present several kinds of art-style so that people can like art…like contagious.” Duane Moody “Tell us about those art-styles.” Julian Veronin Kuo “The art-style for landscape would be realism and abstract would be abstract. And those humans that I create is just like an abstract human because it doesn’t look like a human, but a special alien. So that is my design.” Duane Moody “Why contagious?” Julian Veronin Kuo “Because painting is a very happy thing in my life and I want people to love art. And when people see my art that they want to create their own art. I just want to share my idea to people and also tell people art is fun.” Duane Moody “Tell us about a particular piece that you consider your favorite and why?” Julian Veronin Kuo “I feel proud of my human because I designed the human…and I like when people see my human and would say wow, how do you do this nad these human look beautiful.” The exhibit is free and started earlier tonight at seven o’clock. Each piece is available for sale. |
Contagious by Channel 7 13 June, 2013High School Student Wants Art To Be “Contagious”
posted (June 13, 2013) Tomorrow night, the Image Art Factory is showcasing the talent of Belize High School Student Julian Kuo. He has been preparing an exhibit of about 55 paintings, which he produced between February and April of this year.It is his first exhibit, which he has appropriately named, “Contagious”, because he wants to inspire other Belizeans to take up art. He gave 7News a preview today, and he spoke to us about his work: Julian Kuo - Artist "In my art work I try a lot of different style. I want to show everybody that art is easy, you can create your art if you enjoy doing art. So you can see I have an abstract, human, landscape - so I want to make people like art and also they would want to start their own art when they've seen my show. Every artwork I can describe my own story in them so when I do my work, I have to think what I need to present in my show. In the artwork I would like people to think about the story of the art so that when people look at it they will create their own story to describe this work." |
Contagious by The Belize Times 14 June, 2013By Katie Usher
The new show at the Image Factory may have some us spooked especially with the current situation at the KHMH. Contagious, quite unlike the tragedy at Belize’s national referral hospital, features colourful and playful paintings by Belizean Taiwanese artist Julian Veronin Kuo. Check out his website:http://julianveroninart.weebly.com/. Kuo explores various media and techniques to create his images, which, in my opinion are sharp, pristine and bursting with Caribbean colors. Earlier in the week, as Julian assisted with setting up his exhibit, I asked him a few questions about his show and his art.“Painting makes my life happy and this joy is contagious. With this show, I’d like to contaminate viewers with joy when they enter my art world,” he affirmed. Contagious will only feature Kuo’s paintings, but he is also an avid photographer. In explaining what captures his interest photographically, he explained, “When I go out, I must have my camera with me, I like to record some moments of life, every picture has its own story. It is an intuitive reaction for me.” It is clear that Julian’s use of vibrant colors is contagious. I asked him to elaborate on his experience or relationship with color and how it affects his work: “When I was 3, I started to interact with art. The walls of my room were my canvas. I painted and drew on the walls. I tried a variety of art styles, while creating my own view of art. I was the winner of the BTL directory cover design. I am the Milky Way Cafe’s photographer and I also design the posters and menus for the Cafe. Designing the Belize High School yearbook gave me a lot of experience. The color of art is just like a language for me; an international language because of the many stories I have created in my works. When people see my works, they will describe it from their point of view.” In this new techie era, where social media has made interaction virtual, and music, books and movies stream online, I asked the young artist what he thought about the very traditional and tactile medium painting. Is painting new enough for our young tech-savvy artists? Kuo replied “Painting is always new, because painting is diversification”. Contagious premieres Friday June 14 at 7 p.m. and will be on display for three weeks. |
